Karina D’Antin
Social Worker Back to Leadership
I became a social worker because of my grandfather, whose resilience and work ethic as an immigrant shaped my values. When he was diagnosed with lung cancer at the start of my master’s program, I was deeply moved by his experience and the challenges that come with end-of-life care. His journey inspired me to dedicate my career to supporting individuals and families during this difficult stage, ensuring they receive the compassion, dignity, and guidance they deserve.
Through my work, I honor his legacy and continue learning about the profound experiences people face at the end of life. Outside of work, I cherish spending time with my husband, son and dog, going on hikes, and making memories at Disneyland. These moments remind me of the importance of connection, joy, and being present—values that I bring into both my personal and professional life.
