Silverado Hospice in Austin Awarded Accreditation by Leading Independent Healthcare Standard-setting Organization

Hospice Provider Recognized with Trusted Gold Seal of Approval by The Joint Commission

AUSTIN, TX – October 9, 2014 – Silverado Hospice in Austin, Texas earned The Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval for exceeding national healthcare quality standards. This significant accreditation represents Silverado’s commitment to delivering the best care possible to patients at the end of life.

During the unannounced on-site survey, a team of Joint Commission experts evaluated the quality of Silverado’s care based on a number of factors that affect patients and their families, including infection prevention, patient education, medication management and leadership.

Achieving Joint Commission accreditation is a result of offering comprehensive medical, social and spiritual care from a dedicated team of physicians, social workers, spiritual counselors, case managers, hospice aides and volunteers – each of whom ensure a safe and personalized experience for hospice patients. Additionally, families often share appreciation for Silverado’s ability to deliver end-of-life care with an emphasis on dignity and comfort.
