Volunteers Surprise Hospice Patients with Flower Arrangements
October 23, 2015
Earlier this week Carmax employees volunteered with our Petals for Patients hospice program. With their help, we surprised our hospice patients with beautiful flower arrangements and hand-delivered them to patient’s homes, nursing facilities, and memory care communities.
Trader Joe’s usually donates flowers to our program but unfortunately Trader Joe’s was unable to donate this week. However, one of the volunteers took the initiative to purchase the flowers! The Carmax volunteer team purchased the flowers, came to our Burbank office, arranged the flowers in vases and then delivered them to our patients in the area.
All of our patient’s were beaming from eat-to-ear when the volunteers dropped by with arrangements. A patient’s daughter shared, “Three wonderful men from Carmax brought flowers to my mom and she lit up like a Christmas tree, she has been smiling all day. Please tell the volunteers and Carmax thank you for making my mom’s day!”
We’d like to personally thank Carmax for their generous donation and for giving back to the community!
