Volunteer Visit Note

“I visited my patient today and she was in a very deep sleep. I held her hand and talked to her, played her music and read some poems to her. During my visit, I was really struck by the compassion all of the staff showed especially a staff member named, Arlene. She regularly came in and talked to the patient and told her how much her family loves her and she even talked to her about her beloved dog, Sammy. I stayed as long as i could and it was difficult to leave her but she looked comfortable and as I left Arlene assured me that she would make sure that her music was on and she would continue to go in and comfort her.”
