Kayla graduated with her bachelor’s in nursing from the University of Mary Hardin Baylor in 2013. With extensive experience across various specialties, she has found her true calling in hospice care. Kayla is passionate about educating families, facilities and other professionals on the special impact hospice can have, emphasizing the blessings of supporting loved ones through their final journey.
Born and raised in Austin, Kayla discovered her passion for caring for others during visits to her grandmother’s nursing home. After a near-death experience as a child and the care of an exceptional nurse at the hospital, she knew she wanted to pursue a career in nursing.

Anil Rathi, M.D. joins Silverado Hospice Austin as a Team Physician. He is a disciplined and confident physician, with extensive experience working in hospice, post-acute care and all hospital settings. Rathi is committed to providing the highest level of quality care to patients in Austin, Tx.

Team Physician
Ryan Coughlan, MD, MPH joined Silverado Hospice as a natural extension of her work as Physiatrist. She is board certified in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation and Brain Injury Medicine.
Ryan’s career passion is helping patients and their families live their lives on their terms. She recognizes the importance of giving others the freedom to choose their next steps whether that is in rehabilitation after an injury or stroke, or at home living with a terminal diagnosis.

Suzy has been in the healthcare field for over 20 years. Her passion for hospice care began when her father was diagnosed with Progressive Supranuclear Palsy. Suzy describes her family’s experience with hospice as a gift, allowing them to be fully present and cherish the moments together during her father’s transition back home. “I’m so thankful to have had those last moments to say goodbye and am passionate about continuing his legacy by helping and educating as many people as possible about the beauty of hospice,” she shares.
Suzy grew up in the Dallas-Fort Worth area and discovered her love for Austin while attending Texas State University. She is excited to join Silverado Austin Hospice and is passionate about making a meaningful impact through her work in hospice care.

Heather earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 2014 from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. She began her career as the Director of Health Services at an assisted living community in Portland, Oregon. After two years of recruiting efforts from a hospice professional, Heather decided to explore a role in hospice care, and instantly found her true calling. “I get immense pleasure and satisfaction from helping another human die with dignity and peace, while supporting those they leave behind. It has become a calling for me, and I couldn’t imagine doing anything else,” she shares.
With a passion for caring for seniors and enriching their lives, Heather has dedicated her career to making a meaningful impact. Outside of work, she enjoys gardening and quilting.

Rebecca’s passion for volunteering and hospice care began in high school, where she served as president of a club dedicated to supporting her local hospice. She spent much of her free time providing companionship to patients, listening to their stories and engaging in leisure activities such as playing games and organizing holiday events.
Throughout her professional career, Rebecca has worked with individuals across diverse fields, but she found her true calling at Silverado Hospice, where she deeply aligns with the organization’s core values. As Volunteer Coordinator, Rebecca feels honored to lead a dedicated team of volunteers who selflessly offer their time and compassion to make a meaningful difference in the lives of others.
