Congressman Steve Knight Honors Veterans
November 16, 2015
Silverado Hospice hosted a ceremony in Newhall, California to honor more than 20 U.S. Veterans who served in wars dating back to World War II. Congressman Steve Knight of the CA-25 district honored each of the veterans during the pinning ceremony. Knight’s commitment to the armed forces runs deep — he was born at Edwards Air Force Base, went on to serve in the U.S. Army and is now a member of the House Committee on Armed Services. Veterans and their families gathered at Pacifica Senior Living of Santa Clarita for the ceremony. The Air Force Junior Reserve Officer Training Corp. and students from Golden Valley High School also attended the ceremony for a special Color Guard & National Anthem. The effort was part of a special We Honor Veterans program developed by the National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization (NHPCO).
