5th Annual Silverado Family Reunion & BBQ
Silverado’s North Houston Hospice held our 5th Annual Family Reunion & BBQ on October 21, 2017 at Southwell Park in Spring, Texas. Our patients’ family members gathered together with the Silverado team for an afternoon of socializing and reminiscing. The kids enjoyed the playground and basketball court. Even the horse on the neighboring property came up to the fence to see all the fun going on!
We feasted on delicious homemade brisket, BBQ beans and potato salad prepared by our own Sabra Egbert, Volunteer Manager, along with the assistance of Jerry Evenson, husband of our Director of Family & Support Services, Lueata Evenson.
Spiritual Care Counselor, Greg Brown, led the inspiration as we took time to remember those we lost. Everyone was invited to take part in two different creative activities designed to capture the memory of their loved one by using sand or paint. The different colors of sand and paint represented characteristics and memories of the person they loved or the life they shared with that person.
The weather was great. Everyone walked away with a smile on their face and in their heart and a unique memory to take home.
